American clairvoyant (1877-1945), known as the Sleeping Prophet, who gave over 14,000 trance-state readings on health, past lives, Atlantis, and spirituality, founding the Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) in Virginia Beach.
Most documented psychic in American history; his readings synthesized Christian mysticism, Theosophical cosmology, and alternative medicine into a distinctive American esoteric tradition that prefigured New Age spirituality.
