Horus is the ancient Egyptian sky god, typically depicted as a falcon or falcon-headed man, son of Osiris and Isis. He avenges his father's murder by Set, and his Eye (Wedjat) is one of the most enduring symbols of protection and royal power. The Pharaoh was considered the living Horus.
Archetypal figure of the heroic son who restores the father's order; the Eye of Horus as a symbol of perception, healing, and protection; central to Egyptian royal ideology.
